Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer .Net in Morristown, NJ / hybrid.

Role Description

The Senior Engineer will work as a member of the Finance Product Team and will provide software engineering expertise to deliver the next generation of Arch Reinsurance systems:
• Build trusting relationships with all colleagues.
• Work closely with senior team members and stakeholders to establish the scope of work required.
• Understand our business processes and financial close and how this relates to our systems.
• Contribute to the evolution of the Finance Product Roadmap and Backlog.
• Engineer solutions that continuously deploy new capabilities to the Finance Team.
• Develop innovated prototypes and tools that solve business problems.
• Support the rebuilding of our financial systems and contribute to the design and architecture of an aspirational future state.
• Support the monitoring and maintenance of deployed systems and tools, responding to change requests and support queries.
• Foster an open transparent culture of collaboration, continuous learning and improvement, and analytical thinking.

Skills & Requirements

• Recent and extensive experience with .Net Core, C#, SQL or similar.
• Experience building & operating distributed systems in a cloud environment.
• Comfortable with the challenges posed by multi-threaded and asynchronous application development.
• Passion for technology, pragmatic thinking, ability to jump in and break down complex problems.
• A college degree (BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related field).
• Strong communication skills capable of articulately describing technical details and tradeoffs to a nontechnical audience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience ideally gained in the insurance / reinsurance industry.
• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
