Zurich North America is hiring an Senior Financial Analyst to join our team! We are open to hiring talent in our Schaumburg, IL location.

US National Accounts Finance team strives to drive business performance across the Strategic business units (SBUs) and lines of businesses. We partner with the SBUs enabling them to serve our customers better, create positive impact and define and execute business strategy tied with financial plans to run efficient and effective operations.

As a Senior Financial Analyst in the team, you will collaborate with SBU teams, their finance and technical directors and other cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations that contribute to profitable business growth. You will prepare comprehensive financial reports , including variance analysis and performance metrics, to provide insights into business performance and assist in the development and enhancement of financial models to support strategic initiatives and scenario planning.

  • Digital skill sets - analytics, visualization, modelling and planning tools. Experience or expertise to actuarial, general ledger areas is a plus.
  • Minimum 6 years of previous experience in a similar role working in Insurance industry.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field with MBA, CA, CFA, CPA, or CIMA qualifications.

What would a day in your new professional life look like. It would change at different times of the year, and you would be doing one or more of the following:

  • Ideation, strategic and planning discussions with your teammates and Head of Finance for US NA.
  • Develop written communications (e.g., PowerPoint, MD&A) that convey a cohesive story, including development of analysis and commentary, to a broad range of executive audiences.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives, drive ideas and have some fun and satisfaction in the process.
  • Lead / Support the preparation of key messages, financial analysis to brief executive leadership teams on actual and projected financial results.
  • Communicating timelines, requirements and acting as the first point of contact for forecasting and planning activities for your SBU or Market basket.
  • Coordinate the collection, consolidation, and review of planning inputs from the business units.
  • Prepare analysis and commentary for all reporting requirements and be a first point of contact for all queries relating to financial projections to ensure forecasting and planning deliverables are met.
  • Conduct recurring and ad hoc analyses to help Finance leadership understand performance drivers for over/under-performance against the forecast and/or Plan.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Insurance industry experience
  • Project management experience
  • CPA, CPCU, CFA or CTP
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply, as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The salary indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $80,100.00 - $131,200.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
