ECL is searching for a Senior Laboratory Technologist in Lancaster, PA to provide oversight for the development, validation, and implementation of new and / or modification of clinical assays and instrumentation including but not limited to LIS integration.

Senior Laboratory Technologist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Develops and / or modifies new clinical assays.
  • Ensures the implementation of new techniques, services, processes, or software.
  • Serve as the technical resource for laboratory technologists and technicians with regards to the performance and interpretation of new or modified assays.
  • Work with IT and Data Management in priming of studies.
  • Work with the Management to develop SOPs, method validations and workflow processes.
The ideal candidate would possess :
  • Commits to perform work and to behave according to the agreements established in SOPs, within the overall quality system of the ISO and, where applicable, the specific applicable quality system.
  • Ability to set concrete goals, taking into account the common interest, does everything to achieve the primary study objectives.
  • Ability to set and follow priorities, working accurately following set procedures and under deadlines.
  • Is focused on improvement and optimization of technology and the work process.
  • Shows detailed knowledge and skills with regard to the work, keeps up to date and increases professional knowledge, keeping abreast of the latest developments.
  • Prolonged usage of analytical and computer systems (>75% time). Ability to lift up to 20 kg from time to time
  • Proficient in good laboratory and documentation practices.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Capable of identifying problems, root causes and solutions, documenting deviations and notifying superiors.
Basic Minimum Qualifications :
  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology or Medical Technology.
  • Certification by ASCP, NCA, or AMT preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 4 years working in a diagnostic, clinical laboratory working with modern automation
  • Proficient usage of a commercial grade or customized clinical LIMS
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays and overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, Pennsylvania are encouraged to apply.
