We're looking for a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Manager, Merchandising General Merchandise to join our Global Leverage Team and help shape the future of our operations across China, Mexico, and the US. This role is key in driving business strategy by maximizing cross-market opportunities, fostering collaboration, and leading innovative initiatives that enhance our global reach and member experience. You'll play a central role in our One Sam's Club initiative, which ensures a consistent product offering across markets while honoring the unique preferences of each region.

As a Senior Manager in the Global Leverage Team, you will be a leader in connecting our operations across the US, Mexico, and China, with the goal of accelerating business growth and enhancing the member shopping experience. A primary focus will be developing a unified shopping experience under the Member's Mark brand, optimizing buying power, and fostering collaboration. You will also support the US team in addressing item development challenges in Mexico and China, while facilitating knowledge exchange to strengthen our global footprint. A key aspect of this role is helping transition the team to a truly global mindset, positioning the Member's Mark team as a center of excellence.

You'll guide US Merchants in gaining international exposure, boosting cross-border insights, and developing leaders with a global outlook. The role also involves leading the exchange of technology, data, and business practices between markets to deepen our understanding of member behavior, shopping trends, and supply chain strategies.

In short, as our Senior Manager, you'll be at the forefront of driving collaboration between the US, Mexico, and China for General Merchandise, enhancing member satisfaction, and shaping Sam's Club leadership in global retail.

As a Senior Manager, you'll lead multiple aspects of the business, including global strategy, supply chain optimization, and supplier negotiations. You will align business unit strategies with corporate goals, ensuring that every decision supports long-term growth. You'll have a deep understanding of both your suppliers' and members' needs, always thinking ahead about future business opportunities. Success in this role requires a combination of determination, analytical skills, influence, and a strong competitive spirit. Your executive presence will be key as you navigate complex challenges and engage with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Executing global strategy: Own the strategy and growth for key categories, identifying trends to meet the diverse needs of our global member base.
  • Driving business growth: Lead planning, forecasting, and expansion efforts while incorporating global competitive insights into business plans.
  • Building relationships: Develop and influence key merchant and supplier relationships on a global scale, fostering mutual growth and collaboration.
  • Leading cross-functional teams: Assess operational needs, manage resources, and continuously drive improvements in processes and outcomes.
  • Innovating for the future: Keep a pulse on market trends and member feedback, introducing ideas that enhance the business and global member experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute global strategies to effectively leverage product offerings across the China, Mexico, and US markets.
  • Drive cross-market initiatives to optimize product selection and profitability through strategic tag-on opportunities.
  • Lead the One Sam's Club initiative, ensuring product consistency across markets while respecting regional uniqueness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants and stakeholders in all three markets to drive operational success.
  • Collaborate with key teams to identify and execute opportunities for product expansion and market penetration.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry shifts to inform strategic decisions and recommendations.
  • Provide regular performance reports and strategic insights to senior leadership, driving informed decision-making.
  • Advocate for process improvements to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements across all markets.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of retail markets in China, Mexico, and the US.
  • Excellent negotiation, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
