This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Senior Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for :

Collaborative Development: Working with R&D, quality assurance and manufacturing teams to develop reliability requirements, develop and implement comprehensive reliability test plans for IVD medical devices that align with product development and production processes.

Lab & Technicians Management : Manage Lab technicians, support resource and budget planning and oversee the reliability engineering lab.

Test Methodology: Designing and developing test methods and fixtures to assess the performance and durability of IVD devices.

Protocol & Training: Writing of test protocols, training personnel on test procedure, analyzing data and creating final reports.

Conducting Tests: Conducting reliability tests and documenting results, including environmental, lifecycle, and accelerated aging tests, to evaluate product performance under different conditions and in compliance with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines.

Data Analysis: Analyzing test results and providing detailed reports, identifying areas for improvement and potential risks.

Functional Representation: Serving as the subject matter expert and technical representative for the reliability engineering function in project teams.

Process Improvement: Recommending design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.

Project Leadership: Leading and directing multiple projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Design Reviews: Participating in design reviews and working with engineering to drive DFR (Design for Reliability) process and tools and support in defining and executing reliability plans.

Reliability Planning: Developing reliability plans and requirements, conducting Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).

Failure Analysis: Reviewing device failures, performing root cause investigations, and documenting results in a failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action (FRACAS) system.

Risk Analysis: Completing risk analysis studies of new designs and processes. Compiling and analyzing performance reports and process control statistics; investigating and analyzing relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.

Engineering Principles: You have a strong understanding of engineering principles and are familiar with relevant software and tools.

Risk Assessment: You can identify and assess risks that can cause delays to project timelines or increase project costs.

Methodology Development: You can develop process and methodology to model system and subsystem reliability.

Team Collaboration: You can work with development teams to drive effective FMEA's and risk reduction.

Life Data Analysis: You can generate data and perform life data analysis.

Fixture Knowledge: You have knowledge of building fixtures and performing Life Data Analysis for in-vitro diagnostics medical products.

Required skills to have for the success of this role.

Education: bachelor's degree (Advanced degree preferred) in Mechanical /Electrical /Biomedical /Systems /Reliability Engineering or related discipline.

Experience: 7+ years product verification and reliability engineering experience in highly regulated industry preferably in a medical device or healthcare industry.

Verification Tests: Previous experience creating custom verification tests and fixtures, planning verification tests (DoE, sample size selection, etc.).

Management: Previous experience managing multiple projects, contractors, overseeing labs, resource planning and executing reliability engineering activitieswith external agencies preferred.

Software: Experience in Reliability and statistical analysis software like Reliasoft/PTC Windchill/Minitab is preferred.

  • Motor Control: Experience with motor control using LabView.
Certification: Reliability Engineering Certification a plus.
