Overview

Applicant should be a highly motivated and experienced Mass Spectrometry expert. In this role, the candidate will play a key role in elucidating the mechanism of action and identifying biomarkers for our novel protein inhibitors and therapeutics. The candidate will utilize advanced mass spectrometry techniques to analyze changes in the cellular environment following inhibitor or therapeutic treatment. This will involve identifying potential small molecule and protein-based biomarkers associated with inhibitor activity, which could ultimately contribute to the development of new therapeutics by providing a deeper understanding of the drug's impact on the cellular environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement mass spectrometry methods to analyze protein-ligand interactions between the inhibitor or therapeutic and its target protein.
  • Design and execute experiments to identify and characterize changes in the metabolome and proteome following inhibitor treatment of relevant biological samples (e.g., cells, plasma, tissues).
  • Develop and validate methods for the identification and quantification of potential small molecule and protein-based biomarkers associated with therapeutic activity.
  • Utilize bioinformatic tools for data interpretation to identify relevant metabolites, proteins, and potential biomarkers.
  • Collaborate with scientists in other groups to ensure proper experimental design and interpretation of results.
  • Prepare and present research findings internally and at scientific meetings and contribute to the publication of research articles.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mass spectrometry technology and its application in drug discovery, particularly in metabolomics and proteomics.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field with a strong focus on metabolomics and proteomics analysis using mass spectrometry.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in applying advanced mass spectrometry techniques for both metabolomics and proteomics.
  • Experience with LC-MS maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of cellular processes and the impact of protein inhibition on the metabolome and proteome.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Experience with documentation of scientific data, scientific writing and publishing research findings.
  • Strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
