About the Position
Pond & Company is seeking an experienced Senior Scientist in Biosafety to join our growing Life Science team in our Peachtree Corners, GA office. The Senior Scientist - Biosafety will provide subject matter expertise (SME) services to the biosafety and biosecurity industry, with a primary focus on select agent regulatory compliance and non-select agent procedural guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biosafety, laboratory safety protocols, and experience advising on laboratory operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in biosafety, providing consultation and advisory services to internal and external stakeholders on laboratory operations to ensure compliance with research and production laboratory biosafety and biosecurity practices and their regulations and guidelines.
- Develop, implement, and maintain select agent regulatory compliance programs.
- Ensure all procedures and protocols align with current regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Stay informed about the latest developments and trends in biosafety science and technology.
- Develop and update non-select agent procedural guidelines to ensure safety and compliance across all laboratory operations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for biosafety hazards.
- Support the Director of Science & Technology in contract management, task development and execution, budget control, and maintaining adherence to project schedules.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
- Advanced degree in Biosafety, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in biosafety or a related field, with a strong background in regulatory compliance and biocontainment.

- In-depth knowledge of select agent regulations and biosafety protocols.
- Excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Certifications
- Relevant certifications in biosafety or related areas (e.g., CBSP, RBP) are desirable.
Work Environment
- This position requires frequent travel to client sites, industry conferences, meetings, and other events both domestic and foreign.
- The role involves working in biocontainment facilities, necessitating adherence to strict safety protocols.
- Provide necessary items when required by a client for background check, drug policies, and secure clearance protocols.

Additional Information Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Senior Scientist with a salary range of $100,800.00 - $159,800.00 .
