Senior Systems Engineer

PacBio is looking for a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems group. The candidate will work closely across the R&D organization to develop and test our next generation DNA sequencing instruments.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate architecture discussions between Subject Matter Experts in the Instrument Engineering, Software, Scientist, Semiconductor Integrated Devices and Product Marketing groups to define critical interfaces while balancing competing requirements.
- Create experiments and tools to integrate, test and monitor complex systems.
- Coordinate, with scientists and design engineers from a variety of backgrounds, to investigate and resolve system issues.
- Data mine and drive improvements across the product lines and organization.
- This is an onsite role.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 4-8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 2-6 years experience with a Master's degree; or 0-5 years experience with a PhD.
- Advance degree, or equivalent experience, in physics, engineering, computer science, or related field.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly curious, self-motivated, and organized with an ability to work in strong team-driven and highly performing organization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with scripting (bash, Python).
- Experience with complex instrumentation and software development environment.
- Knowledge of Unix systems administration, networking, and large-scale computer hardware is strongly desired.
- Familiarity with optics, Semiconductor Integrated devices & CMOS is a plus.

Salary Range:
$128,800.00 - $193,200.00
