Basic Job Functions:

Vulcraft of New York is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Shop Order Technician. A Shop Order Technician is expected to:

• Collaborate with engineering & detailing to effectively communicate production needs
• Prepare detailed drawings & codes to be utilized through the production process
• Identify and execute on opportunities to optimize material and time
• Create joist & deck lists that will be used to produce final shop orders
• Actively assist in the layout of Vulcraft products to meet project requirements as efficiently as possible
• Understand industry standards & Vulcraft manufacturing processes
• Provide input and technical support to detailers, engineers & production teammates during project design and development.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times

Compensation Data:

Hourly compensation for this position ranges from $18.00-36.00 per hour and is also eligible for annual ROA bonus and annual Profit Sharing bonus

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or equivalent experience in a related field
• Previous Vulcraft detailing experience
• Tekla, AutoCAD, or other 3D Modeling experience
• Bluebeam software experience
• Prior experience working with computers and common office software applications (MS Office)
