Loparex LLC is the worlds largest manufacturer of extrusion base and silicone coated release liners for the converting industry. We have manufacturing operations throughout the U.S., Europe, China, and India. The Iowa City facility has been in operation since 1970 and annually supplies three billion square feet of release liner worldwide.
These positions may work a 12 hour shift on a compressed work schedule working 3 days one week and 4 the next week, including every other weekend, or on a 12 hour shift working 4 days per week with a rotating day off.
JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or GED
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Solid computer skills
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity and customers
• Requires the ability to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions, use basic math and take accurate measurements, make calculations and use hand tools.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to communicate positively both verbally and in writing
• Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment including ear plugs, safety glasses and steel toe shoes
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Promotes safety by leading by example, participating in safety engagement and encouraging team members to work safe each day and to follow all safety guidelines/procedures
• Completes appropriate paperwork for machine
• Delivers packaging supplies to slitters and Keep them stocked with supplies
• Cuts cores, end disks and belly wrap
• Assists in roll-wrap as needed
• Set-up work area for the oncoming shift
• Assist operator with two-person tasks on the machines (ie; loading rolls of paper, threading the paper through the machine, etc)
• Housekeeping/6s duties
• Physical requirements include standing/walking for up to 12 hours, lifting, kneeling, reaching out and grasping
• Regular, consistent attendance
SECONDARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist on slitters as needed
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
Candidates must successfully pass pre-employment drug test, lifting evaluations and background checks.
