The SNAP-Ed Extension Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) nutrition education and is responsible for leading policy, systems, and environmental approaches to improving access to healthy foods and physical activity among low-income and Slavic populations within Snohomish County. This includes collaborating with local partners to conduct needs assessments: implementation of successful strategies that increase access to healthy foods and physical activity among low-income and Slavic populations; and collaborating with the Curriculum Training and Website (CTW) team on state level projects and priorities related to training and website access for Slavic Community members. The SNAP-Ed Slavic Outreach Extension Coordinator Specialist works closely with other Extension staff, SNAP-Ed staff, and community partners to ensure that activities meet community needs and are appropriate within FNS guidance for SNAP-Ed programs.
This is a temporary position expected to end on September 30, 2025. Renewal is dependent on satisfactory performance and annual background check, the need for Extension to complete the project and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant extension program discipline and two (2) years of related program experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Bilingual/Bi-cultural for work with youth and adults
While using a private or WSU‐owned vehicle for official business, must have current automobile liability insurance (meeting the requirements described in RCW 46.30.020 and RCW 46.29.090).
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Ability to work a flexible, yet structured schedule with occasional night and weekend shifts to meet the needs of program partners and grant requirements.
Employment is contingent upon passing a background screening.

Monthly Salary:
$3,037.50 - $3,225.00 (prorated for 75% FTE) | Grade 3, Zone 3
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
