Salary Range:$36,754 - $44,105 per year
Description of Job Function:1. Acts as liaison for the Financial Services division in matters with other college departments, fielding and responding to inquiries relating to financial transactions.
Description of Job Function:2. Reviews and reconciles general ledger accounts to accounting records on a timely basis.
Description of Job Function:3. Processes accounting entries as needed to adjust account balances based on reconciliation or other fiscal monitoring activities performed.
Description of Job Function:4. Monitors financial accounting transactions for compliance with college policy and procedure, as well as applicable State, Federal, or external agency mandated regulations. Identifies any questionable financial activity, and resolves potential issues in coordination with the Director, Accounting.
Description of Job Function:5. Develops and maintains Excel spreadsheets and other necessary documentation to provide auditable evidence of verification of account balances, reconciliation, monitoring procedures, and any other fiscal functions that may be deemed necessary.

Description of Job Function:7. Reviews cash position on a regular basis to ensure appropriate cash balances are maintained in accounts. Requests disbursement of funds from appropriate funding agency as needed.

Required Minimum Education:High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Preferred Education & Field of Study:Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution with emphasis in accounting or business.
Preferred Type of Experience:Progressively responsible accounting experience, which demonstrates an understanding of accounting/bookkeeping principles and practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of computerized accounting practices and procedures.
Skill in the use of personal computers and other accounting related software, including Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Microsoft, Excel.
Skill in effectively communicating orally and in writing demonstrate the ability to accurately and thoroughly communicate using logic and clarity of thought.
Ability to handle multiple priorities, follow complex directions, organize work, take initiative, and function independently.
Ability to accurately collect, process, review, and evaluate financial and accounting data, and prepare related reports.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with college staff and external partners.
Ability to provide guidance to support staff in the completion of their tasks.
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
