F&G is looking to hire for the Sr. Software Administrator
The Sr. Software Administrator for the Atlassian Platform is responsible for managing the company's Atlassian cloud-based enterprise application platforms and ecosystem integrations. Their primary focus is on supporting the needs of the F&G business by maintaining these platforms and processes. Daily tasks include software administration, configuration, script writing, monitoring, and optimization of the Atlassian Platform, which is utilized across the organization for Project and Portfolio Planning, Work Management, Collaboration, Content/Document Management, and DevSecOps. Additionally, the Sr. Software Administrator will troubleshoot and address software performance issues and provide guidance and support to both business and IT teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement, maintain, configure, and integrate F&G's Atlassian Platform to meet the organization's requirements
- Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions within Atlassian tools to ensure that users have appropriate access to projects and resources.
- Provide oversight of Atlassian applications, including cloud applications and infrastructure
- Monitor the performance of Atlassian applications and identify and address any performance issues or bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by users, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Lead and initiate changes to improve software support of related business processes
- Maintain documentation on system configurations, procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of current industry standards relating to enterprise software applications and how they are installed, configured, and supported in an enterprise environment
- Collaborate with the Architecture team to design and deliver solutions
- Interact with clients and stakeholders on a regular basis
- Lead initiatives where appropriate, guiding the organization with respect to system impact and change
- Translate undefined business problems and defined business objectives and goals into functional solutions
- Develop estimates for project and maintenance work
- Perform impact analysis for interface/system changes affecting the applications environment
- Design with limited assistance following company and architectural standards
- Integrate Atlassian tools with other third-party applications and services used by the organization, such as version control systems, continuous integration tools, and authentication systems.
- Lead the management and maintenance of Atlassian interactions with virtualization environments
- Implement and maintain security best practices, including user authentication, authorization, and data encryption to protect sensitive information.
- Lead application security remediation in collaboration with Security team
- Design, code, test, and document software solutions that are high performing and intuitive, adhering to F&G's software development methodologies, frameworks, standards, and security requirements
- Provide training and support to end-users and teams on how to effectively use Atlassian tools.
- Provide technical assistance and mentoring to technical team members to increase skill sets and understanding of software, related systems, and architectural design
- Mentor and coach System Administrators on an informal basis
Experience & Education Requirements - Bachelor's degree (preferred emphasis in Computer Science or MIS) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4+ years of experience administering and supporting JIRA and Confluence in a large enterprise environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
- Experience with various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
- Experience developing code using ScriptRunner.
- Experience designing, building, and implementing applications and interfaces
Preferred Requirements - One or more of the following certifications through Atlassian (Project Administrator for Cloud, Project Administrator for Server/Data Center, Jira Administrator for Cloud, Jira Administrator for Server/Data Center
- Advanced industry recognized certifications related to Agile preferred; Agile SAFe certification
- Background or history with User Experience (Ux), Customer Experience (Cx), and/or Human entered Design (HCD) work
- Experience working within an IT organization in insurance or financial services
- Experience working within an effective SOX/internal control environment
- Prior leadership experience

- Ability to work in a team environment as well as develop and mentor less experienced team members

- Regular and punctual attendance
- Some travel may be required (less than 10%)
