Our client is seeking a Sr. Technical Business Analyst in Orlando FL .

Role Description

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for engaging with the business on behalf of the IT project team, and providing technical guidance and oversight. The Senior Business Analyst works to understand complex business needs and define technology and service requirements to maximize delivery of business value. The Senior Business Analyst translates business needs into requirements that IT can use to design and develop solutions. The Senior BA ensures the required outcomes are built, tested and delivered. The Senior Business Analyst is also responsible for coaching and guiding other Business Analysts in business requirements gathering, as well as developing best practices in business analysis.

1. Provides some technical guidance and oversight.
a. Leads in moderately complex analysis, providing guidance and oversight.
b. Supports the development of business analysis best practices for the organization.
c. Mentors team members on best practices and standards.
d. Recommends improvements to processes and technology that improve the effectiveness of the team.
2. Supports pre-project business problem elicitation, feasibility and business case definition.
a. Works with the business to determine the real issue that needs to be solved or the opportunity to do things differently.
b. Develops moderately complex business cases, in particular ensuring benefits align to strategic and tactical business objectives.
c. Supports the business in business, technical and financial feasibility assessments.
d. Monitors emerging trends and identifies those which will be useful to both the business and IT in the delivery of the projects.

3. Gathers business requirements.
a. Works with the business to capture and document requirements (both functional and non-functional) using a range of techniques such as workshop facilitation, document analysis, site visits, use cases, scenario modeling, task and workflow analysis.
b. Ensures business requirements are concise, complete, specific, and unambiguous and that they are aligned to the strategic and tactical goals of the project and the business.
c. Combines all business requirements into a clear, managed, prioritized backlog (agile) or business requirements document (waterfall) for projects of moderate complexity.

4. Performs process modeling.
a. Discovers and documents the as-is process by applying various process modeling techniques.
b. Identifies high-level solution options for the business and presents these to stakeholders for review.
c. Designs and models the to-be process, performing gap analysis and identifying areas for improvement.

5. Ensures requirements traceability through testing.
a. Works with the QA team to provide business input into test strategy, test plans, test conditions and UAT plans.
b. Coordinates UAT with the business.
c. Reviews and signs off on test scripts to ensure requirements are fully tested and met by the delivered solution.

6. Provide business change management support.
a. Ensures the benefits, impact and release of all changes are tracked and managed and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
b. Ensures end users and IT support teams are fully trained to use, support and maintain the application/solution.
c. Shapes the business customer experience through business engagement and stakeholder management activities, including change and support activities.

7. Provides project management support.
a. Provides subject matter expertise on the business unit and associated processes and systems to all relevant team members.
b. Assists the Project Manager in identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies.
c. Assists the team in resolving any questions related to requirements or process. d. Delivers the required documentation during each stage of the project.

Skills & Requirements

What are the top Three - Five Skills?
• 5+ years of experience as Technical Business Analyst - ensuring applications are built, tested, and deployed
• Extensive requirements gathering experience creating documentation for both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Experience performing Process Modeling
• Experience working with QA teams for UAT plans
• Change management and project management skills
