Responsibilities

  • Working with the operations team, coordinates the preparation of and drafts bid and subcontract documents; manages the bid process
  • Reviews and revises bid forms and documents in accordance with project, company, and state standards/laws
  • Initial reviewer of redlines and comments providing summary of requested changes and recommendations to Contract managers and project leaders
  • Assists in evaluating bids received, negotiating contract terms, and identifies if bids are in line with the bid package
  • Working with the operations team analyzes, prepares, and circulates agreement modifications (change orders, amendments, etc)
  • Coordinates and communicates with law, finance, and commercial teams for resolution of subcontractor/vendor issues including analyzing and negotiating subcontractor claims and will serve, with support from the legal and change management teams, as the primary negotiator on subcontractor claims
  • Maintains knowledge of construction suppliers and subcontractors
  • Collects and helps manage subcontractor/vendor insurance, bonding, and license information
  • Maintains accurate file for each agreement including original contract, contract changes, notices of default, etc.
Qualifications (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree In Construction Management or other related field
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a BS degree

Preferred

  • Experience in heavy civil engineering design build
  • Heavy civil construction knowledge
  • Prior experience in legal field a plus but not required

Skills, Knowledge, Ability

  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical, able to spot issues with proposed documents and clarify or address those issues
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; be self-motivated and takes initiative
  • Prior experience with estimating and knowledge of procurement processes
  • Construction industry and materials knowledge
  • Prior experience negotiating with subcontractors/vendors to close agreements and resolve claims
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Superior knowledge of contracting process
Annual Salary - $115,000 - $150,000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, quality of experience, and skillset)
