POSITION SUMMARY

As a Teacher, you will develop individual achievement plans and academic goals that result in improvements in student literacy and numeracy skills.
Teaching at the Atterbury Job Corps Center has some unique advantages. Our instructors don't have to do lesson plans, grading or Parent/Teacher Conferences! Our student to teacher ratio is 18:1 or less! We have Zero Tolerance for violence and drugs. Violators are separated from the program. We empower Instructors with multiple methods of positive reinforcement to support classroom management and motivation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide students with academic training that supports the students' long-term career goals, to include Reading, Math and/or High School Diploma-HiSet achievement.
- Provide students with comprehensive and individualized case management that ensures student progress, achievement and completion of the Job Corps program.
- Ensure classroom is well organized and conducive to student learning.
- Hold students accountable for following Center's dress code/behavioral standards of conduct.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:45AM to 4:45PM
- No assignments to grade after school. Students are expected to complete all work assignments during the school day.
- Classroom Size: 18:1 student to teacher ratio but not more than 25:1 for when there is a vacant teacher position in the department.
- This is a year-round position. We are closed for 11 federal holidays and staff accrue two weeks of vacation and about 10 days of sick leave per year.
Qualifications - State of Indiana Teaching License required.
- Bachelors degree required.
