The strength and conditioning intern is responsible for assisting full-time strength and conditioning staff in enhancing the physical and mental development of student-athletes through established training programs that intensify the physical strength and cardiovascular conditioning of the student-athlete.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists strength and conditioning coach in the implementation of their program for designated varsity athletes.
- Assists strength and conditioning coach with educating activities as determined.
- Assists strength and conditioning coach with rehabilitative programs.
- Assists with the maintenance of all equipment and the enforcement of all rules and regulations.
- Assists in the testing and evaluation of all student-athletes and maintains appropriate records.
- Maintains a continuing and thorough knowledge of all applicable University, Departmental, and NCAA rules and regulations and complies with those rules and regulations.
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and certain holidays depending on schedule.
- Performs special duties as requested by the strength and conditioning coach.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance and appropriate certification with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, Institutional, and Departmental policies, and procedures.

- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
