About the Role:
The Risk Management Primary Casualty Group of Everest Insurance, is looking for an Underwriter to join our New York or Philadelphia office.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Utilizing authority to underwrite and price loss sensitive casualty (deductibles, SIRs, retros) business for the following lines of coverage: Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability, and Commercial Auto Liability, while adhering to divisional underwriting guidelines.
- Establishing and maintain broker relationships in the Northeast region with a concentration on primary casualty business.
- Development and execution of business strategy necessary to drive submission flow and binding of profitable business.
- Working collaboratively with home office, marketing and distribution, actuary, claims, loss control, premium audit, and legal in an effort to develop and maintain a profitable portfolio of primary casualty insurance placements.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- College degree preferred, with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience underwriting Primary Casualty loss sensitive insurance.
- CPCU, CRIS, ARM or other insurance certifications are a plus.
- Should have experience and/or expertise in working with a broad array of program structures - guaranteed cost to large deductibles to captives.
- Existing relationships with Northeast brokers handling primary casualty business.
- Possess strong presentation, communication, and business development skills.

- Demonstrated ability to generate profitable new business.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and computer skills.
- Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks concurrently within a fast-paced, team-oriented, working environment.

For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $115,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
