Reporting directly to the Chief Customer Officer, the VP, Small Format & Club will develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth across drug stores, dollar stores and club stores. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sales leadership with a proven track record of success in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry driving profitable growth. Experience in building the Price Pack Architecture (PPA) is required as this position sets the scale of PPA for the organization.

Sales Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies across channels to achieve revenue and growth targets
  • Analyze market trends to identify new sales opportunities and ensure the company's competitive position in the marketplace
  • Identify and develop growth opportunities at brand, category, and portfolio level
  • Set sales goals and objectives for each channel.
  • Develop a disciplined, data-driven approach to growth partnering with Category Leadership team
Leadership and Management
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high performing sales team
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented sales culture
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of the sales team.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers in each channel
  • Lead team through negotiations including contracts and pricing
  • Address and resolve customer issues and concerns promptly and effectively
Sales Operations
  • Oversee the development and execution of annual sales plan
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to meet objectives
  • Collaborate cross functionally to align efforts
Financial Management
  • Develop and manage the sales budget ensuring optimal allocation of resources
  • Forecast sales projections and track financial performance against targets
  • Implement cost control measures to maximize profitability
Market Intelligence
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape and customer preferences
  • Clearly articulate insights and recommendations to the executive team based on market analysis
  • Identify and capitalize on emerging market opportunities

Experiences that will support your success

  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA or equivalent advanced degree a plus
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales leadership experience in the CPG industry
  • Proven track record of success in managing sales in small format and club channels preferred
  • Track-record of building and developing high-performing teams
  • Ability to frequently travel to meet with customers, industry events and visit company headquarters
